Inspired

Our trip to Scrapbooking Premiere gave me a little inspiration to come home and complete this lo last night. I am not usually into Shabby Chic styles, but playing with the alcohol inks yesterday inspired me to use them on more than just transparency or glass. I used them on the paper doily behind the photo and also to age the lace. (Remember to use them in a well ventilated area otherwise they can send you a little high). I adore this photo which was taken by a friend at the Mackay show and I thought it deserved extra special treatment. The beautiful flowers are from Prima...bought them at the Brisbane expo....divine!!!
The shabby chic blog http://letsgetshabby.blogspot.com has some really great ideas for these type of los as well. I think I might be visiting this blog quite often for inspiration.

I have to go to stocktake today so better finish off and get moving............have a great Sunday.

Scrapbooking Premier

Congratulations Sandra on the opening of your store. The kids and I enjoyed our couple of hours there today. Michelle Grant was doing make and takes and we also got to play with alcohol inks. (we have bought some and had a play at home this afternoon as well!!) The store is small but well set out and has everything imaginable. If you can't make it to Sarina, try the web site, Sandra will pack and send to you.

What a great day....even the lawn got mowed!!!

Dana's Athletics

I always seem to have photos of Kendall at athletics and not Dana; no favouritism it just works that way. However a good friend of mine took this photo of Dana in action at the shot put at school athletics. I think I will scrap this one as it is probably the best one I have of her in action. Great action to.....shame school athletics do not enforce the foul rules very well but I suppose they don't really know that much about athletics. Off to Scrapbooking Premiere's Grand Opening this morning. Should be great!!!

More Success....

today at athletics at school. Kendall came home with a 2nd in the 200m, third in the long jump and Dana managed a creditable third in her heats but was not successful in her finals. That is school athletics over for another year. School holidays start tomorrow, so it is off to Nanna's for a holiday in the first week (so long as they practise their eisteddfod dance routines while they are there) and we will see in the second week.

Home from School Athletics

Walkerston State School ran the 800m events today, with their sport day being on Thursday. My Mum and Dad and myself went down to watch. Kendall blitzed the field to win the 9 years boys. Here are two photos, one of him leading the field and the other with his fellow place getters.

A little Saturday Evening Craft

produced these two los. Kendall has a rat tail which is now quite long and Grandad likes to pull it when he sees Kendall. This picture shows Kendall's disdain and I couldn't help but scrap it for his future reference. The other lo is done in a patch work style and using a die cut vine which is pieced together to form a whole vine. Grandma and some of her great grandchildren at her 90th birthday. Love crafting by myself when everyone is asleep.....crafting bliss!!

Scrapbooking Premiere June

Wow, what a criteria this month. 12 elements required however I managed to get them all in. I love this photo of the kids with their Great Grandmother when she turned 90 last month. I was lucky enough to have a Great Grandmother when I was growing up and the knowledge they impart is never forgotten. There is no generation gap between these guys and I think the belong to a mutual admiration society as well. I am pretty satisfied with the lo although normally I would not add this much to one lo. (I suppose it is good for the creative soul) Hope you are having a great weekend. Ours, as usual, is busy, with dancing workshop and a 3 way meet today at athletics. All going well to date!!!!!!Sigh, is it time for bed yet....me thinks not!!

June 123 Challenge

This is my entry into the June 123 challenge. I really put it together quickly last night as I wanted to use the new paper that I purchased in Brisbane on the weekend. It is from Prima and is called SEW CUTE, with stitching already done on the paper. Just beautiful....

and finally

the last two shares from Brisbane. The tag album from Cassandra Glass was quite a lot to fit into the 2 hour class. I finished but a lot did not. At home I would have probably been neater however the finished product was worth it. The tags need journally and photos added however that will happen soon when I decide what the album will be for.

The final share is of the mini canvas hanging from Jill GG. I love this antiquey grungy look and distressing the paper is always a good way of relieving tension. (I actually bought a cropadile at the expo after using it in this class. It pierces holes in anything including metal as well as setting eyelets in the most quietest manner I know.)

A couple more...

from the expo. This is the mini album we did with Melissa Kennedy. I really have not done a lot with acrylic and Melissa's tips were fatastic, not to mention the finished product. I will be doing some more of these is the near future.

BRISBANE EXPO SHARES

Well I am home and had a fantastic time. Let me say, that doing classes with your fav. scrapbookers has got to be the most envigorating experience. I actually took five classes in Brisbane, only getting to shop Sunday afternoon, however I was really more interested in doing classes to learn different techniques and get different takes on work. I really only did one lo and that was with Ngaire Bartlem. Ngaire is fab...a laugh a minute and a great crafter. I also did four "off the pages". I made a memo board with Teneale Williams, a mini canvas hanging with Jill GG (the most inspirational woman I know!!), a mini clear album with Melissa Kennedy, also a great tutor and host, and a tag album with Cassandra Glass. I am going to gradually download photos of these projects as blogger has a heart attack if you do too many at once. So first up I have the lo from Ngaire's class, and the memo board from Teneale's.
