Home to Hectic

Well, we made it home safely from Townsville. Now the fun begins. Mackay eisteddfod starts on Monday 6/10. We have our solos on this day and groups at the end of the week and the following week. School holidays are the ideal time for practice, practice practice!!!. Had a morning and afternoon session yesterday. Our own private practice and group today, lots tomorrow and Thursday...but we have Friday off. Back into it on Saturday.

I am lucky to have such wonderful Mums in our kids class who help me out with transport when I have to work. These ladies are like my angels and nothing in words can ever express how much I appreciate their help. I have included a photo from the weekend with Kendall in full flight in one of his races. Hope your week has started out well...

Townsville Bound

Thought I better get in a blog comment before the weekend. We are heading off to Townsville to the Athletics Championships tomorrow and I won't be near a computer, or craft table for that matter, for a few days. I managed to finish the final teacher present a couple of days ago. It is a little trinket box which we will fill with chocs or such. I found some carpise lace in my stash and have used this to line the inside of the box. The kids came up with the design so I just followed their lead; after all it is their present to the teacher. Alittle spray of flowers is stuck in the lid just to add interest when you open the box.

Talk to you all next week....have a great weekend!!

busy busy

Once again my pseudo day off has been very productive. Had my parents here this morning and the kids and I made syrup pikelets for smoko. Then we had an hour of our own dance practise at the hall followed by a trip for groceries. Then into Mackay to get last costume supplies and to do the inlaws accounts. Managed to get the car washed on the way home. Kids thought it was great as they has cooked chook and veges for tea. Managed to get a couple of los done last night, my first for over a week. I love Pink Paislee vintage moon series and the layout using them was so easy and quick. The second lo is from kit from Tarisota. Way to go Tamar, you've done it again.

Proud Parents

Just arrived home from Athletics break up and presentation. Wade and I are very proud of the twins. They received boy and girl champion in their age group and Kendall took out overall boy Club Champion. They do work hard at both their athletics and their dancing and championships are based on overall club points. This means that even though Dana does not come first etc in her events, she actually got over 20 personal bests for the season. She is wrapped, and I think today's award has helped her along a lot with her overall confidence.

Looking forward to a day off tomorrow.

Another Teacher Present

Here is another work in progress. Found this great frame from K & Company. Have used the Basic Grey papers and some braid so far. I intend to use my Fiskars cutter and butterfly template to create a 3d butterfly for the side. Three presents down, two to go. I'm sure I didn't have this many teachers when I was in Year 3. Have a great weekend.

Another Day

Although my life is quite ordered, it is also very chaotic. After working from 7.30am this morning, the kids had to be at dancing at 5.00 p.m. Although I don't close until then we are a minute away from the dance hall and generally make it on time. However today, for some reason, my customers seemed to be very time tardy and coming in at 1 minute to 5. As a working mother, wife etc how is it I can manage to get somewhere before 1 minute to closing whilst stay at home people leave things to the last moment. I apologise if this sounds patronising but of late my patience for "slackness" is dwindling. Maybe I would be the same if I was a stay at home woman, I don't know...but my hope is that this does not happen too often.

OK that's off my chest, here's a lo for you....

The Secret Revealed

Well I did it!!! I kept the secret from the kids....and now they know. We took possession of our new car today...a white Honda Accord. Our previous car, a white Berlina, was over 15 years old and whilst still going well was starting to cost money. Bite the bullet, get a new one.
The kids told me I was putting them in the wrong car when I got them from school today, but they think it's great. (No feet on the seat hey Mum!!!)
Hope you all are having a great week.

A Busy Day Comes to an End

Have just been reading Jill GG's blog, what a fantastic time you have with fellow scrappers.

Back at work today and it was really busy...by the way stamps went up to 55c today in case you did not know. At least being the last week of school before holidays we had no homework to tackle when the kids got to the Post Office this afternoon. I have a surprise for them tomorrow which I have been keeping a secret for over a fortnight, I'll let you all know tomorrow.

Have included a lo from Friday Frenzy using cropped photos ( not your everyday rectangle here) and 3D flowers and borders. Hope you all enjoy your week!

While they Sleep

What a fantastic day yesterday. The kids were full on. We started with a 9.00 am costume call for eisteddfod groups. (finished around 10.45). Off to the grocery store, followed by lunch and a play in the park. Home for awhile. (I managed to even get some of the trims on costumes!!). The shower and change and off to Harrup Park Country Club for dinner with the family to celebrate their birthday. Usually I make a cake based on some theme, however we've been a little hectic so I organised a Swiss Chocolate cake from Pavlova Shoppe. The twins had no idea and when it came out with sparklers firing they were very surprised. We then went downtown for coffee; kids ordered cake, so the great ladies at Cafe La De Da put a candle on it for them.

They now are sleeping peacefully....hopefully refreshing themselves in the process. Dana and I are off to a concert this afternoon. There goes another weekend. Hope yours' is as great.
Til Later....................

Avery Special Day

8 years ago today, I was lying in the delivery room at the Mater Hospital, holding a beautiful baby girl and watching as the doctors attended to her brother who required oxygen to help him breath. Our beautiful twins were born (although a little early.) My son just wanted to be born and he has been on the go ever since. How those years have flown......I don't feel older just a lot wiser and more worldly.

They are the inspiration for my scrapping.....along with my family history....and now they also scrap along side me. Whilst we are always busy...dancing, athletics, school etc we always seem to be able to have a chat and they never are afraid about telling us things...even if it is bad!!
Friday Frenzy last night, only achieved 3 los but 3 is better than none. Busy weekend, costume call and birthday celebrations today, concert tomorrow. Have a great one!!!

Tuesday again

I don't know if it is my age or the fact that we try to fit it sooo much in our lives but Tuesday is here again. Busy day today; hopefully I get everything done. I really should not be blogging but folding last night's washing, but hey "A girl's got to have some fun!!".
Have to help with athletics trophies today, our presentation day is 20th so really need to get them ordered. Also doing farm books, shopping for kids' birthday (13) as well as all those other things that don't get done when you're at work.

Hope you all have a great day...

Quickest ever

I started this lo at 6.30p.m. and am now including it on my blog. It is probably the fastest lo I've ever done and I am soooooo happy with it!!! I bought the supplies from Ruby St Designs who specialise in oldworld goodies. The photo is of my grandparents wedding and although I have scrapped it before I couldn't resist doing it again so I could use these beautiful antique things. The flowers are satin and really beautiful and the little seed pearls in the hat veil behind the photo are to die for (still have some of these left for another project!!) Hope you all have a great weekend and that all the dads have a great day tomorrow.

Not so nice photos

Don't you always seem to scrap great photos of happy children, I know i do, however a couple of weeks ago my dd cracked a spack, mainly because we were late home from dancing and she was really tired, I just couldn't resist I had to take photos. We've dubbed her the tantrumator and the pages came out really well even if the subject is a little less than perfect.

I have shown close ups as well as the paper has background designs which made it really suitable for doodling...not one of my fortes but I did enjoy doing is on this lo.

New Goodies

Just received today not 1 but 2 packages containing beautiful scrapbooking items. The first was from Ruby St Designs...link is on my blog. The gear from here is from yesteryear. Beautiful, girly and definitely on my top list for heritage or special pages.
The second was from Scrapbooking Premier, also on my blog. This is a new online shop and whilst not everything has been downloaded, Sandra has really great stuff at wonderful prices. The new Vintage Moon collection is fantastic and I can't wait to use it either. (What a worry as father's day is on Sunday and I won't get much done). Hope you all have had a great day, as I certainly have!!

Finally finished

I have been working on this teacher present for over 2 weeks and finally today got it finished. It is a clock and hanging frames. As it is for the kids teacher I did not feel I could put photos in it but have left it so the middle hanger can have a photo mounted if she wishes. The images are close ups as it is really hard to photograph something that is 2 feet long. Hope you all had a great weekend....Rhonda
