A little interim project..

Whilst waiting for covered pages of a mini album to dry this afternoon, I did this little book, albeit with the cover at the back, think i must be part Chinese. However this was a little experiment to see how it would work, as I want to do a notebook like this and add pictures and guests comments in it for my Grandmother's 90th birthday in May. I'm quite happy with the result and think I will look for something similar to do for her birthday.

Cross Country

Kendall competed in school cross country yesterday and came in second. He finished the 2km run without even breathing hard, oh to be fit. Hopefully my MIL got some shots as I was marshalling as I would really love to do a lo for him. At year 4 level they do not go onto interschool level but next year he will so I hope he keeps up his form.

Tarisota Layout

Here is my version of one of the Teckni los from Tarisota this month. The papers are basic grey porcelain and they are really beautiful There is fabric, chipboard, stickers, ribbon, brads, you name it it's here. I enjoyed doing this lo and not having to think too much as I completed it late last night after a day of dancing and athletics with the kids. The sun really had a bite yesterday and I think my brain got a little fried so doing a lo this way was absolutely relaxing. Happy Sunday!!

Salad Days

The new Buzz and Bloom fruit salad acrylics were the inspiration for this lo. I remember doing seeing the play Salad Days when at High School. The play recalled all the summer antics of high school kids on summer holidays. The fruits are so yummy and vibrant and this photo of Dana in the pool just called for something vibrant: viola a lo is born. The papers are from basic grey.

March Challenge

Scrapbooking Premiere's March challenge has been posted and this is my lo for it. There were 15 required elements in this lo and all a little different from each other so finding a suitable photo became the greater challenge. Kendall took this photo on our back deck. The butterflies are quite prolific here at the moment and he was able to get quite close and use the zoom on the camera as well. (I think I may have a photographer in the making) All in all the lo did not turn out to badly considering I would not put some of the elements together in a "Rhonda" lo.

It is always good to move from your comfort zone every now and then. Busy weekend ahead and hopefully no rain....

30 minutes and it's done

Even though the photo not crash hot..taken tonight on my desk instead of waiting until tomorrow in the light. Could not believe I could get a lo done in such a short time. Had the idea in my head and went for it. This will be the 3rd lo for Scrapbooking Premiere and it was made using left overs and a few items from my stash. The Heidi Swapp letters were metallic pink and really not the right colour so I dabbed some ink on them using a cotton tip and voila instant match. I still would like to do and off the page for Sandra but my brain is fading...maybe tomorrow.

2nd Guest Artist Lo

for Scrapbooking Premiere....I love 3D work and the die cuts Sandra supplied form mylittleshoebox.com were great. I love the way you can alter things just by cutting out elements and using them in your ownway. Thinking outside the box doesn't always come easily but once you start the process it just seems to progress.

Surprises

Was just clearing my SD card on my camera when I cam across these great butterfly shots. I think Kendall must have taken them on Sunday. I am definitely going to scrap these little beauties. For and 8 yr old he is getting a keen eye.

Surprises.

Guest Designer

Guess who is this month's guest designer for Scrapbooking Premiere. Can you believe it. I have uploaded two los already but am looking to do an otp item as well. Sandra supplied some really great papers from my littleshoebox.com. Very feminine but still able to be used with a male perspective. The above is one of the los. I used cardstock as the base and used pieces from the patterned paper to decorate the page. The flowers were not the right colour for the lo so I inked them to suit. The butterfly is stamped on to transparency with stazon ink and then a few lines highlighted with gel pens.

Finally another layout...

Love these photos of Dana at the Brock Experience. This pink Torana was just what the doctor ordered in a male dominated car world. The men are going down to the Brock Experience on the weekend to see the cars being started up and some racing car drivers visiting. Life seems to be so busy so it's best just to take one day at a time. Enjoy!!!
