Finally - some creativity

I started doing Grandma's 90th photos last night, and was getting frustrated as I was really tired, so this morning, up early, finished the lawn and decided to do a lo from the Tarisota May class. This class is by Ngaire Bartlem, and while I have followed it mostly I have added a bit extra bling just because of the nature of the photos. I admire anyone who is creative with hair, especially when it comes to dancing. Dana was lucky to have Miss Courtney do her hair for her tap exam a couple of weeks ago and we both thought the style so great that it deserved to be photographed and put to paper for future reference. So this is my take on Ngaire's wonderful class.....

A little slack....

in the blogging dept lately. Spent last weekend in Bowen for athletics and have a 3 way meet at Slade Point on Saturday. The following weekend is at Brisbane Scrapbooking Expo and I can't wait although I have a lot to get through before then. The photo is of Kendall on the dias receiving a silver medal in the 800m walk in Bowen. He excels in the longer distances whether it be the walk or run so I think this maybe is speciality later on. Have a great weekend...

Busy Day

We have had a hurry up and wait day today. The kids had dance exams today, Kendall had both tap and jazz and Dana her tap. They seemed to have gone OK so here's fingers crossed. As the teachers were on strike we did not get an absentee day, so this was also great. Dana has her jazz exam on Thursday morning and then we are off to Bowen for athletics carnival on Friday night. I think I then get a weekend at home before heading to the Scrapbook and Paper craft expo in Brisbane on the June long weekend. Well need to check on homework progress then do tea before heading off to kids limber class and my own jazz class. Hopefully will have some los done of my Grandma's 90th next week. No time this week lol...

90 years young...

My sweet grandmother turns 90 tomorrow..we celebrated with a luncheon today at Carlyle Gardens. She was surrounded by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc. We all should be so lucky to make it through so many years and see so many changed occur in the world. She has another party at the home tomorrow, so is really celebrating in style. Have a great day grandma..we all love you very much!!!

Sarina Challenge

Scrapbooking Premiere is once again holding its monthly challenge, with the list of 10 requirements in a lo. These requirements do go together but took some thinking to actually pull it off. (Maybe my brain just wasn't functioning properly last night after a very busy day!)

However I like the outcome and hope Cathy, who is in the photo, likes it as well....HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

123 Challenge

A fellow scrapbooker introduced me to the 123 challenge Totally Addicted....I took it last month and was a little in awe of the instructions, however this month they are quite easy to incorporate into a lo. This is my take. We were not to stick the ribbon straight down, but be creative and also to have journal spots, so I incorporated the two and used the ribbon to make rosettes around the journal spots. It is a good way to use ribbon on "boy pages" without being feminine. (I dare not do any girly stuff on Kendall's pages...lol)

Quick lo

This is a very quick lo designed by Tamar Bostock from Tarisota Collections. The scallop is actually crepe paper, done in a ribbon type theme, is is really great to work with and the results are quite remarkable. Tamar did not use a heart on the photo but there was a small flaw in the photo and I really did not want to waste it so a small chipboard embellishment was the way to go. The flowers are made from layers of tissue paper and a brad. Time has been very short lately so I was happy to get this lo done in approx 1/2 an hour. Hopefully I will get some more time today and tomorrow for a couple more. Hope you are having a great long weekend.
